Who We Are
We at Foothills Bible Church are about connection with God, obedience to His Word, and fellowship with other believers.
Pastors John Waldrup and John McCarty
John Waldrup (left) has been married to his wife Susan since 1979. They have two sons, Mark and Daniel as well as several grandchildren and one great grandchild. John and Susan have been at Foothills almost since its founding in late 1996. John is retired from building custom residential homes and presently “piddles” with custom-cutting timbers and live-edge slabs on his bandsaw mill. John has been in the preaching rotation since around 1997 and worship pastor since 2001. Perhaps his greatest desire in serving Foothills is to see the church grow in its understanding of who God is and what He has done for her. John’s vision for Foothills is to see a church where people consciously come to give worship to God and encouragement and love to the saints, yet leave having been given the gift of seeing more of God in His fullness and being uplifted by His people.
John McCarty (right) is the husband of Cindy, the father of Leslie, Lindsey, Brian, and Casey, and grandfather to a slew of grandkids and great-grandkids. John is also one of our teaching pastors at Foothills Bible Church. John’s vision for FBC is to see our members equipped for the work of ministry (Eph:4:11) and being conformed to the image of Christ.
Fellowship Bible Church Elders
Don Tibbett (far left) and his wife Laveta are parents, grandparents, and now great-grandparents. Having been actively involved with Foothills Bible Church for decades, Don is our Missions Director for Guatemala and has led more than 20 mission teams. As an Elder, he handles many of our administrative tasks.
Stephen Beavers (second on the left) is husband to Sharice, father of 5 children (who were all homeschooled), and a growing number of grandchildren. He is self-employed and has been a member of Foothills Bible Church since 1998.
Daniel Waldrup (far right) and his wife Kristen are homeschooling parents who are active in the local homeschool community. Daniel has attended Foothills Bible Church since 1997.
Brian McDaniel and his wife Christy were raised and married in California and moved to Heber Springs in 1983. After establishing themselves in the community they started attending FBC while raising a family of five children and homeschooling. Now that their family is grown, Christy currently leads a women's weekly Bible study. Brian has recently retired but will continue to hone his woodworking skills. Part of his retirement plans include helping others in the church when small jobs are needed.
Our role as elders is to be the "Aarons for our Moseses" the Pastors. Their roles are to preach the word, and our role as elders is to encourage and equip you, the Body, to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Our position as elders is not to be elevated, but to be accountable to our Body of believers and conduct ourselves as a Christ-centered, New Testament church for our community. Our goal is to be found diligently working for the Kingdom of God when Christ returns for us who have kept the faith and have run the race with endurance. To hear the Lord Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful servant" is what we strive for daily.
