The prophet Habakkuk's struggles with God's inaction in the face of injustice and violence. The book's central question is whether God is good if the world is so unjust. Habakkuk lived in Judah, Israel's southern kingdom, during a time of injustice and idolatry, and he saw the threat of the Babylonian empire growing.
