Sermon Series Notes

The Book of Daniel is a biblical apocalypse written in the 2nd century BC that takes place in the 6th century BC. It tells the story of Daniel, a Jewish noble exiled in Babylon, and his visions and activities. The book is divided into two parts: chapters 1–6 are stories about Daniel and his friends in Babylon, while chapters 7–12 are visions of Daniel about the future. The book also includes a prophecy that predicts future political and cosmic upheaval and affirms that God will deliver the Israelites from their oppression.

“For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Daniel 6:26-27
